Sometimes it feels like I rebuild my blog more often than I post to it!

This time, I’ve chosen Astro — a modern static site generator that helps you build fast, performance-focused websites with a great developer experience.

It’s wild to think how big a deal Gatsby was just a few short years ago. Like many others, I jumped on the hype train and rebuilt my site with it. While it had some nice features, I found it increasingly difficult to maintain. Every time I tried to spin it up locally to write a new post, I ran into issues. I’d spend more time Googling solutions than actually writing.

Switching to Astro was a no-brainer. All of my previous content was already written in Markdown and only needed minor tweaks to work with the new framework. While there are plenty of tutorials on converting from Gatsby to Astro — which I referenced a bit — I ultimately chose to redesign from scratch rather than just reimplement the old setup.

Now, I just need to get back to writing again!
